On Adoption tools, processes, concepts and Tricks…

Authored by John Ryan Shaw

“If I have a penny and you have a penny, and we share pennies, we each have one penny. But if you have an idea, and I have an idea, and we share, then we each have two ideas” - Unknown

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned in my career is that solving problems isn’t about simply knowing the answer. Instead it’s about having a process and set of tools at your fingertips that help you to reliably arrive at great solutions. Since the problems we encounter are constantly changing, continual problem solving requires constant learning, testing and improving of your problem solving toolkit. For me, one of the great and beautiful ironies in life is how this constant quest to understand more and build more capabilities only leads us to ask more questions.

My colleague has been kind enough to invite me to add my voice to this blog. I’d like to use the opportunity to share some of my learning journey with you. My upcoming posts will contain some of my favorite tools, concepts, tricks, resources, processes and ideas around helping people to adopt software. Selfishly, I hope that you will in-turn comment and share things so I can learn from you.

Stay tuned for my first topic covering Shotguns & Skill Grids!
