Risk Management in the Supply Chain & Making Spend Analysis Work

Authored by Soraya Sackey

Last week we held the first Real World Sourcing series briefings of 2014, Risk Management in the Supply Chain in Dubai and Making Spend Analysis Work in Abu Dhabi.

In many organizations, Procurement is beginning to see risk as part of their responsibilities, second only to savings. In the Dubai session we looked at identifying risk and considered how it might be treated to arrive at the best risk solution for an organization. A full room of over 60 procurement professionals joined us as industry expert Guy Allen covered the following areas:
  • Risk and Consequences
  • Types of Supply Chain Risk
  • Mitigation, Acceptance or Ignorance
  • Consideration of Risk Tolerance
  • A Risk Management Model
Back again on the Wednesday with a great turnout, we looked at making the most of the spend data you have. The session covered:
  • Sources of Spend Data
  • Turning Data into Information
  • Identifying Opportunities and Prioritization
  • Spend Analysis and Managing Categories
  • Identifying Actions
If you missed the briefings you can download a copy of the slides here.

We'll be back again in May with briefings on Evaluating Bids and Tenders and Benchmarking the Procurement Process. More information on the Real World Sourcing series can be found on our website
